The Forgive angel card

Forgive

Release the weight in your heart and embrace the peace that forgiveness brings.

What the Forgive card means

Forgive is not asking you to say that what happened was acceptable. It never was. This card is about the difference between holding someone accountable and carrying them around with you every day.

There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from rehearsing an old conversation in your head. You replay what you should have said. You imagine the apology that never arrived. Forgiveness, in the way this card means it, is putting that rehearsal down. Not because they earned it, but because you are the one still holding it.

Sometimes the person you need to forgive is yourself, for something you said years ago that nobody else remembers.

When it tends to appear

Forgive tends to arrive when a name has been sitting in your chest for a while. You might not have thought about it consciously today, but your shoulders know. It also comes up when you are about to make a decision and an old hurt is quietly making it for you.

Something to sit with

Who are you still having an argument with, in your head, that ended a long time ago? You do not have to call them. Just notice how much room they are taking up.

Pull your own card

Your card is not chosen from a list. Take a breath, and let one find you.
